Abstract (ENG): Brain tumor surgery is a complex medical procedure. The extent of tumor resection is essential for postoperative recovery and survival. To determine the borderline between healthy and cancerous tissue tissue samples are extracted via instantaneous sections and sent to a neuropathologist. This process takes time and requires extensive human resources. Confocal laser endomicroscopy (CLE) allows visualization of cellular structures in vivo without the need for sample extraction. An interventional pilot study using the described digital image output will be conducted. The neuropathology department of a large German clinic will be digitally connected to the operating room and the digital biopsy tool.
