Lean management, which has been used in industry for decades and is constantly being developed further, with all its principles and methods, is slowly reaching the limits of its capabilities. At the same time, another development is increasingly becoming the focus of business and research. We are talking about digitisation. This is based on many new technologies and offers a huge potential in terms of efficiency and effectiveness for industrial activities. This raises the question of how and whether lean management can benefit from digitalization. This book provides an overview and ex-planation of the elements of lean management and trends in digitalization in the industry. In addition, a matrix is presented, which allows the trends of digitization to be assigned to the elements of lean management. The suitability of the matrix to perform this assignment is demonstrated by means of practical use cases. An additional explanation of the use cases also provides examples of the real benefits of digital trends for lean management. |
