Abstract (ENG): Cardiovascular diseases are a major cause of morbidity and expenditure for healthcare systems. Mobile Health applications can help to improve access to care and reduce expenditure. To integrate digital interventions into care structures, an impact assessment of all professional mHealth applications is needed. This paper examines the extent to which existing evaluation criteria and methods of mHealth applications for coronary heart disease provide implications for the development of a widely applicable evaluation framework for mHealth interventions. A quasi-systematic scoping review was conducted. A total of 4066 studies were screened, of which 38 met the inclusion criteria. Criteria such as usability, motivation, and user experience were most frequently evaluated using standardized questionnaires and usage protocols. Clinical outcomes were assessed by laboratory diagnostics and quality of life questionnaires. Economic evaluations were sporadically conducted in the context of cost-effectiveness analyses. Overall, it manifests that an evaluation framework for professional health applications should consider clinical outcomes, user perspectives, and economic aspects.
