Abstract: |
Abstract (ENG): |
The study "Teaching Reflections. Learning at a Distance" on the experiences of teachers and students
and their respective perspective is based on balanced samples of all Bavarian universities and
departments and aims to answer the following questions:
1. Competence-oriented learning goals: Achievable in digital and face-to-face teaching?
2. Time and space flexibility: perception and advantages?
3. Distance situation:
a. Implications for interaction and encounter between teachers and students?
b. Implications for motivation of teachers and students?
4. General conditions: Impact on the acquisition of competencies?
5. Perspectives for the future of competence-oriented, multimodal teaching?
In the interviews with 32 students as well as 20 teachers (recorded and anonymized via QDA), the
immediate experience of the pandemic is also associated with emotions. As expected, responses
tend to be polarized and multifaceted at such a time. Confident and critical factors were named, as
were health problems, for example.
New standards: presence, digital, hybrid - the expectations for the universities of the future are high:
to take advantage of spatial, temporal and formal flexibility and at the same time to enable campus life with personal encounters and interaction between teachers and learners. These challenges require investment and regular funding for infrastructure and supporting staff structures for digital and hybrid settings. Once again, it is clear that higher education must be understood as a joint task and that the demanding change projects in teaching can only succeed in the interaction of the various university actors. |
