Abstract (ENG): We study the ground state phase diagram of different extensions of the one-dimensional Hubbard model at half filling by numerically diagonalizing finite systems with the Lanczos and DMRG method. We discuss the different kinds of insulator-insulator phase transitions that may occur in these models and the remaining open questions regarding their phase diagrams. First numerical results obtained on the IBM RS/6000 SP at the Scientific Supercomputing Center (SSC) Karlsruhe are presented.
