Abstract (ENG): Entrepreneurial ecosystems are a promising research subject that has attracted significant academic interest. One of the most well-known frameworks in the literature comes from Stam (2015), who describes the ten elements of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. This paper complements Stam (2015) by adding a detailed content analysis and ten expert interviews embedded in case study re-search. We demonstrate the practical needs required within the individual ele-ments of his framework. Furthermore, this study determines the most critical components of his framework and those of less significance. In addition, gaps in the existing framework are identified from a practical perspective and stake-holder requirements are subsequently integrated into the model. The extended, practice-oriented framework illuminates crucial considerations in developing and managing entrepreneurial ecosystems.
