Abstract (ENG): Ethical business conduct is crucial for any organization to avoid economic and social costs such as loss of productivity, reputation risk, and decrease of employee motivation. Whereas the effects of ethical business conduct on organizational performance have been widely discussed in developed countries, such as the USA, Germany, and the Netherlands, little is known about this phenomenon in India, one of the largest emerging countries in the world. As India’s cultural characteristics differ remarkably from those in developed countries, it is necessary to develop a better understanding of the antecedents and outcomes of ethical attitudes of Indian employees.
