| Abstract (ENG): |
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is being used globally. But its spread is limited by challenges associated with trust. Intercultural trust, as required for AI with a global remit, requires a common framework. Systems thinking provides such a value-reflective framework, and was used to examine values in AI design, implementation, and use. A method of integrative systems thinking was proposed, which synthesises a Western approach with a Chinese approach, incorporating value assessments used in the both cultures. Open-ended questions were developed, and put, for comparison, both to international expert respondents, and to the ChatGPT system, embedded in Microsoft’s New Bing. Half of the questions assumed that AI was good, and the other half took the contrary point of view. The results from the experts and from ChatGPT were in line with one another, suggesting that the priority issue was that users should be clear about the value of AI, for helping decision-making.. |
