| Abstract (ENG): |
Global health informatics (GHI) is a branch of biomedical informatics that utilizes e-Health practices, including mHealth and telehealth, to provide healthcare resources, services, and information in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). In local public health informatics, e-Health interventions may be utilized to improve outcomes for underserved populations in high-income settings. Despite their potential to improve health outcomes, there are numerous challenges and considerations that accompany successful GHI project implementation. This panel, composed of experts with experience in developing and deploying informatics interventions in resource-constrained settings, will share their experiences in facing challenges to GHI project implementation and the solutions they developed with collaborators to overcome these obstacles. Attendees will learn about the unique challenges to GHI informatics projects, innovative solutions that have been engineered to overcome these issues, and the appropriate selection of technology and methodological approaches in GHI research and implementation. |
