Abstract (ENG): Digitalization is a potential lever for reducing the workload of care personnel, supporting employees in various scenarios, and increasing the efficiency of organizational processes. However, digitalization projects often fail to meet high demands of involved stakeholders. This qualitative interview study examines digitalization processes in various care institutions from an expert perspective. The analysis is based on six guided expert interviews with the focus on digitalization projects in the context of elderly care. The results identify key success factors, barriers and conditions for successful digitalization in care facilities and derive implications for the planning and implementation of future digitalization projects as well as for further research. In addition to digitization strategies with appropriate planning, digitization projects must involve employees and focus on the main task of nursing care.
